13.3.2023 I Google Chat
With Chat spaces you can communicate with a group of people about a topic, project, or shared interest. You can create a new space for a project, where members can share Drive-files, assign tasks and stay connected. Chat Spaces are excellent for internal (or external) communication!
As a Space manager you are able to remove and add participants, and make other changes in particular Chat spaces. With this new update the role of Space manager will get new additional capabilities besides these! The aim is to ensure effective conversations take place in spaces.
As a space manager you can now choose if members can change space details (such as name, icon, description, etc.)
You can also allow whether members can add or remove other members to a space.
These improvements will enable more flexibility in Google Chat spaces.

Timeline:
Rapid Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on March 13, 2023
Scheduled Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on March 27, 2023.
