It’s now possible to add recurring “Do Not Disturb” schedules in Google Chat. This feature is useful when you want to mute notifications during your regular lunch break, or have “Do Not Disturb” set automatically over the weekend while away from your desk. We hope this feature enables you to better concentrate without Chat distractions or help you disconnect entirely from work when needed.
How to set a recurring “Do Not Disturb” schedule:
Go to Google Chat or your Gmail account.
At the top, click your status.
Select Do not disturb Set a do not disturb schedule.
Under “Do not disturb schedules,” click Create new.
Enter details of the times that you want to pause notifications, then click Save.
Optional: To match your time zone to your do not disturb schedule:
Open the Settings menu .
Check the box and click Save.
Tip: You can create multiple schedules and notifications will be paused for each of the schedules.
Availability: Available to all Google Workspace customers.
Timeline:
Rapid Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on November 15, 2022.
Scheduled Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on December 9, 2022.
